11/24/09

The 2009 season is over.  I wrecked more times than I finished, but I had a blast in the process Thanks for everyones support and encouragement.  A big thanks goes out to all of my sponsors: Mr. Goodcents, Fagan Pool Service, Victory Lane Vinyl, Rebecca with Mary Kay, Vineyard City Church, Quick Park Quick Shuttle, and Trenza Hair Studio.

The 10/17 race started with the 55 running strong in the heat race.  I started in the back since I showed up after pill draw was closed.  I had a surprisingly fast car, but couldn't get around the cars in front.  I spun out in the process, but kept going.  I ended up 5th of 9.

I started the A-main in 8th spot.  Turn one was troublesome and I took the 55 for a ride up the wall and around to turn 2 ala Lightning McQueen style.  This caused a red flag due to all the debris on the track.  I destroyed 2 tires and most of the rear body work.  Erick and Christina Gibson (my crew for the night) put 2 new tires on and sent me back out.  The car handled a little funky since the left rear shock was gone.  I spun once again around lap 5 but kept going.  Around lap 10 the oil pressure started fluctuation so I pulled off.  Turns out I rubbed a hole in the oil pan from my wall ride.  The engine will live to race again though.

The off season will be busy.  I have to weld up some new chassis braces, build a new body, and get the motor freshened up.

Look for the 55 in early 2010 at a dirt track near you.
